BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
? Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of program management, corporate or external affairs experience, key accounts manager, membership manager of luxury clubs, private bank manager or equivalent combination education/relevant experience.
? Experience conceiving and implementing strategic programs, including strategic relationship management and coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside an organization.
? Experience designing, implementing, and directing complex or multiple projects of strategic importance, including managing finances, supervising multidisciplinary professionals and coordinating the work of partners.
? Experience in partnership (corporate, community, or government) and/ or customer development.
? Experience preparing and presenting project proposals and negotiating complex high profile or sensitive agreements.
? Very good communication skills, both in Chinese and English.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Strategic Alliance Director is responsible for all aspects of a strategic corporate engagement to develop institution and alliance clubs in greater China. Responsibilities include developing strong relationships across all parties internally and externally, including the corporation and conservancy team, ensuring impeccable project management, high quality deliverables and on time delivery.
The Strategic Alliance Director will lead setting up the supporting organization functions to develop and manage the collaborative engagements with partners focusing on TNC Greater China institution and alliance clubs’ practice and implementation.
S/he supports the Director of Greater China to design and implement the managing systems for the TNC institution and alliance clubs, to identify funding opportunities, develops collaborations with the private sector, and manages these programs for success and further replication. The position works collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and communicates effectively, particularly with senior executives, global colleagues and partners. The Strategic Alliance Director liaises with counterparts in the Conservancy’s corporate relationships, Philanthropy and External Affairs departments to deliver the China Program’s corporate engagement strategy.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
? BA/BS degree and 5-7 years experience in a corporate or external affairs environment, key accounts manager, membership manager of luxury clubs, private bank manager; or equivalent combination of education and experience
? Demonstrated experience conceiving and implementing strategic initiatives.
? Demonstrated impeccable project management capabilities; experience leading complex projects with scientific and policy attributes preferred. Demonstrated ability to successfully develop and implement complex projects in an unstructured environment.
? Excellent team player with experience working in multi-disciplinary groups, using influence and interpersonal skills, listening, diplomacy and tact to build strong relationships with corporations, partners, donors, volunteers, and all levels of staff.
? Excellent verbal and written Mandarin and English communication skills. Excellent presentation skills.
? Knowledge and experience of service management in the field of membership/key accounts/VIP customers
? Demonstrated leadership and visionary qualities and able to work effectively with and through others in a decentralized and geographically dispersed organization.
? Successful experience in partnership development (corporate, community, or government) including at a high level; political savvy.
? Proven interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
? Commitment to the mission and values of The Nature Conservancy, although no prior experience in environmental conservation is required.
